Programme
- All walkers participate at their own risk.
- For most walks there is no need to call the walk leader in advance – just turn up. However, if there is a pub lunch please let the walk leader know in advance if you’d like to eat in the pub.
- Bring protective and warm clothing (in cold or wet weather), as well as appropriate footwear.
- If you are concerned about the terrain or physical demands of the walk, please consult the walk leader in advance. Leaders reserve the right to turn away anybody who, in their opinion, would be unable to complete the walk.
- Potential members are welcome to attend up to three walks before they join.
- Please do not consume your own food on pub premises.
- Please do not walk ahead of the leader, and inform them if you will be leaving the walk early.
- If you wish to bring your dog on a walk, you must contact the walk leader in advance. If the leader agrees, you must keep your dog on a short lead at all times.
Finding the start of the Walk
On the SURG website under each walk there is an opportunity to display a map showing where the start of the walk is in relation to the local area. Please use this very useful facility and save yourself time on the day (and a call to the walk leader): www.surreyyoungwalkers.org.ukJoint walks
Some joint walks are led by our members and some by members of different local groups. These are marked as joint walks.Socials
All social events and trips are marked and open to members only except for "Pub Nights for All" which are open to anyone. For events with limited spaces, priority will be given to SURG members over Associate members. Ale Trails are generally for members only in order to limit the number of people in the pubs.Every effort will be made to keep to the programme, but any changes will be published on our web site at www.surreyyoungwalkers.org.uk The login for the members' area is "surg" and the password is "boots". If you'd like to receive walks and social programmes, newsletters and updates by email, please contact us at surg@surreyyoungwalkers.org.uk to go on our mailing list.| Date | Departure Time | Details | Distance | Leader | Event Type |

How about organising some walks in another part of the country and letting people organise their own accommodation? This is an easy way to organise a weekend away and have already proved quite popular this year in the Peak District.
If you’re feeling more confident, why not organise, or get together with another member to organise a full on trip such as the one we had last May in Wales. It’s not that difficult but can be time consuming and you’ll need to be very organised.
Contact Andrea Caulfield-Smith or any committee member for advice. Suggested areas to consider:
Peak District, Yorkshire Dales, Lake District, North or South Wales, Pembrokeshire, the West Country or even some easy level walking in East Anglia! and of course, there’s always Bonnie Scotland! Or even crossing the Irish Sea or the Channel.
