Historic Cobham and Painshill Park
Sat, 11/09/2010 - 10:45
This walk takes in the very best of Cobham and its surrounding countryside including various historic sites along the way. Tucked away just behind the village is Painshill Park described as one of the finest 18th century landscape
parks in Europe. To celebrate UK Heritage Open Day there is free entry to everyone and we shall explore the park’s various follies together with its dramatic landscape which was created back in 1738 and has today been lovingly restored. There will be a pub stop for drinks only towards the end of the walk but please bring a packed lunch to eat around the lake at Painshill. A camera too might also come in handy for this walk.
