April 2010
I hope that everyone had an enjoyable Easter break. I hope that those who venture up to the Peak District weren't too cold and wet although it was originally forecast to snow. hose of us who stayed home at least only had some heavy showers to contend with.
Date for the diary – Walk Planning Evening
The walk planning evening will be on Saturday 17th April at 7:00pm. Members can view here for the location more information. If you've never led a walk or hosted a social come along. We may be able to find someone willing to help you out with a buddy system.
Ale Trail postponed
Due to unforeseen events, Paul Russell will be unable to lead his ale trail from Edenbridge station on Saturday 5th June. This event will be postponed until the next programme. I'm sure that many, including myself, are disappointed by this but these things happen. Please remove the event from your walks programmes.
Footpath issues
If anyone happens to find any Rights of Way problems such as blocked footpaths, wonky stiles or aggressive bulls in fields, please contact our Footpath Officer, Holly Matthews with the date, time and as accurate an OS map reference as possible.
Announcements - Engagement
I have the pleasure of announcing the engagement of Leo Hawkins and Frances Roberson. Leo and Frances have been in the group for some years now and met through SURG. They are getting married this June and I am sure everybody wishes them Good Luck! (I forgot to include this in the last newsletter, sorry Frances!)
Email addresses
As said in last month's newsletter, some people are not receiving the programme or the monthly newsletter. If you think you should be receiving the programme, please contact me and our Membership Secretary, Andrew Sillitoe, it may be that we have the wrong email address for you.
And that's it for this month.
Hopefully see you on a walk soon
Chris
