Membership of SURG is open to anyone in their 20s or 30s who enjoys walking and socialising with people of their own age group.

A single membership is just £27 a year, or £36 for a joint membership, which gets you:

• access to our full walks and socials programme,
• our monthly e-mail newsletter, and the quarterly HIKE magazine,
• a discretionary 15-20% discount at Cotswold Outdoor, and free map loans from the SURG map library.

By joining SURG you also become a member of the Ramblers' Association, which gets you:

• the opportunity to walk with any other RA group across the country,
• the RA's quarterly WALK magazine, and the annual WALK BRITAIN handbook, with accommodation listings and other essential information for walkers,
• 10% discretionary discounts at many outdoor stores, and discounts on maps from Ordnance Survey.

How to join SURG

Contact our Recruitment Officer, and he'll send you full details of how to become a member, together with our current walks and socials programme.

Or you can join online via the Ramblers' Association website. Enter your "RA Group" as "Surrey Under 40s Group" (SR16), and you'll be made a member of SURG. If you join online, it sometimes takes a couple of week's for us to receive your details, so please send your contact details to the Membership Secretary so that we can add you to our mailing list as soon as possible!

How to transfer to SURG

If you’re already a member of another Ramblers' Association 20s and 30s group you can transfer your group membership to SURG via the Ramblers' Association website. Enter your "RA Group" as "Surrey Under 40s Group" (SR16), and you'll be made a member of SURG. Or contact the Recruitment Officer and we’ll arrange the transfer for you.

Or if you’d just like to receive the new walks programme every three months, you can become an Associate Member of SURG for free. Just send your details to our Membership Secretary and we'll add you to our mailing list.
