Call for walks

We're currently a little short on walks and walk leaders - especially for the shorter walks. We have an online submission form (http://www.surreyyoungwalkers.org.uk/programme/submit-event.html) to make it easy for you.
If you haven't yet lead a walk, please visit http://www.surreyyoungwalkers.org.uk/walks/leading-a-walk.html for full details on what's necessary. If you would like someone to help you put on your first walk or with map reading, please do get in touch with Glyn (our walks secretary), me or any of our walk leaders.
If you're lacking inspiration, there are a number of useful sources on the web that can help - a quick search will bring up some fully mapped examples:

We also have maps and books we can lend out if you wish to use them. Again, please get in touch with us if you'd like to know more.

Annual Barbeque Tickets Available

Tickets are now available for the annual BBQ from the web booking page at http://www.surreyyoungwalkers.org.uk/events2011/bbq-ticket.html
Tickets are £10 on the door, with concessions if booked before 12th August. For SURG contributors they are discounted to £5, and for all other members and associates they are discounted to £7.
Sarah has also kindly volunteered to lead a short walk to get you to the BBQ, so please do join her on that if you're able to.
I apologise if I'm a little slow in replying, as my internet has been disconnected by copper-cable thieves!
