Secretary
As Secretary Richard holds a pivotal position in the Group, keeping the committee
running effectively through good administration. His role is to:
- Act as a primary point of contact with Ramblers’ Association
Central Office, receiving regular monthly mailings and forwarding
information to other committee members.
- Respond to email enquiries from members or the general public, or
put them in contact with the relevant people.
- Keep the minutes of meetings.
Thinking about standing for Secretary?
You’d make a good Secretary if you’re:
- Well-organised and good at administration.
- A team-player, able to build good relationships with other
committee members, especially the Chair.
- Computer literate, comfortable with word-processing and the internet.
Support is often available from fellow volunteers in the Group or from
Secretaries in other Groups, and the Volunteer Support Team in Central
Office can provide some guidance and advice on request.
